Strength, Knowledge and Astuteness

The Vyayam of the Purification of the Shakti in the body, in the energy of the body, forms what we call in the order of teachings that we are giving, which isn’t any traditional order, the second master series. But I also want you to call it- so there are no confusions in the future- the second magisterial progression. Why? Because we have to understand the series as something that is as it is, and that can’t be any other way, it has a beginning and an end. The exercise begins with this one and finishes with this one. But when we have a progression, if it is magisterial which means that in this progression there is going to be an evolution or development of movements from this base, from this structure and which serves as a differential point for many other movements. This is what we call progression.

The first basic series is what we are teaching from the very beginning of the course which strengthens the energy of the Tan; Vikasa Shakti Vikasaka, which come from the 10 movement series. The Shakti Vikasakas, which you know as exercises and movements that strengthen the Shakti.

There are many types of movements in Vyayam, there are Shakti Gatis, Shakti Pushtis, different types of movements and each one exercises different areas. The first master series or magisterial progression is the Ignition of the Six Powers. In the training course we will teach the second basic series which is the Chess Board Series. Some of the movements that this series has, you are already practising or you will do them through other master series, as these series include some movements that we will practise in the Chess Board Series. That’s why it is very important that the magisterial progressions are well learnt, and learnt by heart. More than just knowing them by memory, they must stay in your blood so they come to you very easily.

We will also learn a third magisterial series, which is Ayurmala, Ayurmala Vyayam, the garland of health and longevity which were 18 vyangas that contained the doctrinal knowledge and philosophy that Vyayam and Tantra are based on. Even though we are not going to learn it today, we are still going to read about it. Why is Ayurmala called the garland? Because the majority of diseases are formed by phobias in the mind. PRADNIA PARADAM HI MULAM ROGANAM. This very important phrase is from the doctor Charaka. The first thought, so as to be able to transmit healing energy, is to first heal oneself and understand that illnesses are formed by corrupt and rotten thoughts. All disorders originate from the phobias of human thought.

The first is called “to be ready for the unexpected” This is one type of medicine. The stability of others sometimes becomes complicated and we should be prepared for the unexpected.
There are two levels of preparation:

* What you do as acceptance.
* What you do as acceptance of what has happened.

What can’t be can’t be, and it’s also impossible.

Firstly there is prevention. First you have to begin walking, but you must look at the scenery, looking at everything that surrounds you, you must observe everything. I am controlling, I am anticipating but I am also accepting. I accept my tendencies and I have to follow my own destiny. And life is like this. We must accept the strength of life, we must accept what is inevitable. If you put up with things in life, then this too shall pass. In the end, the situation becomes tired, it opens and you recover your balance. This is why many times God strengthens our resistance. In Vedic martial arts, they teach us that one of the nine spirits that a warrior should have is “to win, without wanting to defeat” and then resist. If I learn to relax my strength, at a given moment, I will dominate the strength of the other person. This is called defeating anxiety. He who puts in strength to resist a situation, are wearing them selves out. What Gandhi transmitted with Ahimsa, non-violence, doesn’t mean that you don’t fight. It is a very ancient principle that a Guru called Kautilia taught. Win without wanting to win. Learn to save your energy, to control your energy in a moment of tension and strength. This is the principle of health and longevity.

But we also have to accept this in order to free ourselves. It is not a question of picking away at life and always having vital indigestion. We must accept a decision in order to liberate ourselves from it. This is a transitory acceptation. For example, I am going to continue doing my work well, he doesn’t do his work well and he even tries so that I don’t do my job well either, but I am not going to commit the mistake that popular wisdom proclaims which is that if you don’t do your work well, then I’m not going to do mine either, what were you thinking? I am going to continue doing my work well and then I accept and I accept until you find yourself with the reality that I have grown, just like he who silently grows from within without bothering anyone, and suddenly, at a given moment, he grows so much that in the end he breaks away from that which was containing him.

There is a principle that says: “if one finds the centre of their gravitation in this moment, it helps others also find here own gravitation centre and they live in harmony with themselves. But for those who don’t find it and they try to cause conflict because we have found our centre, are fired”. For this reason, we should never allow ourselves to lose our centre, our position of balance, and we should not work with our stupid ego.

Remember that we don’t have to fight until we die, we must fight to kill the other. Mao Tse Tung said it in the red book, for this reason he is the father of guerrilla ware fare. If I cannot fight against the giant meeting him face to face, it doesn’t matter. Now I will go back to find the sufficient space and begin to grow. What is large dominates me, it conquers my country, and in order to conquer the country it loses energy and puts in certain resources to maintain itself, because it isn’t from there, while I can survive because it is where I come from. When he attacks me I cover myself, this is what Mao said, and then when he remains still then I attack. When he looks for me I hide and when he is sure that I am not there, he will find me. The Vietnamese also learnt this and that’s why they beat the yankis. Create a distance, which doesn’t necessarily have to be a physical distance, a distance of knowledge or of what you do in your private life, sketch a line. From here to there me, and from there to here you. You can’t seize what they have and would you would like to have, look at it as lost and look for new things. Don’t keep crying looking for things you can´ t have, as you are depriving yourself of obtaining many other things. Don’t abandon me, don’t abandon me, stop it, can’t you see that I don’t love you, stop it, you’ll find someone better, its like this.

You must be prepared for the unexpected, and then you will understand why it is converted into daily Vyayam practise, and why it gives health to the mind and body, as the body affects the mind. You understand the movement of this Vyayam. You walk, but you foresee everything, you must keep walking, so we keep walking and I am still protected, and I am enjoying everything. I am not like a small donkey that only looks in one direction. For the love of God, look ahead, open things, and look at things. Be curious, don’t go to Bali 20 million times and then realise that you don’t even know it. If you know Bali then maybe you know yourself. The truth is that many times, we go to places but we don’t actually know them.

Now I am going to dictate the others:

2. Unite the body and mind.
3. Reach peacefulness through movement.
4. Integrate the spirit and the flesh.
5. Channel strength.
6. Control the mind.
7. Clean the soul.
8. Liberate yourself from what is negative.
It doesn’t say destroy, because destroying is waste in which you can lose things.
9. Separate light from darkness.
10. The Mind, body and spirit are united.
It doesn’t say to have the mind, body and spirit united, do you know why? The mind has its own dynamic, the body has its own dynamic and the spirit has its own dynamic. If you have worked these previous ones, then each one is ready to fit together. What this Vyanga is asking, is that you don’t stop what is inevitable, that you don’t interrupt the process, after having worked so much, nothing should be able to block it. What should come together should come together, we invest many years working on ourselves, but at any given moment, by a mistake of judgement or criteria, an action stops this union.
11. Open yourself to the light
12. Reach unity through consciousness.
13. Define existence.
14. Reach unity through emotions.
15. Create your divinity.
For example, Shiva.
16. Reach unity through heaven.
17. Give strength and learn delicacy.
18. With delicacy, make strength prevail.

Wise men are these last two. Not only do they prevail, but they also preserve themselves. Imagine having a life living under these principles or as Tulsidas said “weaving the cloth of existence”. Did you know that the word “Tantra” in Sanskrit also means cloth, to weave life in this way? Did you know that the great majority of Tantric masters of this last century were weavers? They had the tradition of weaving and so they wove. And the tradition that still exists is that Tantra master earn their living by their own means, meaning that they work to live, they don’t live off others, not like other masters who live off their students, they don’t give classes, but in communities they give donations. The Tantra masters live from their own work.
