THE IMPORTANCE OF THE TEACHER TRAINING COURSES

II
RULES STRUCTURE FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND ORDER OF THE TTC

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE TTC
The importance of the TTC (short for Teachers Training Course) is very important for the life of self-realization, learning and service of a yogi. The TTC makes it possible to continue with the correct preparation in Vyayam and Yoga, and to access an accreditation which allows you to collaborate with the Vedic Foundation in its mission in the diffusion of Dharma through Vyayam and Yoga, and at the same time to train you in personal teaching work so as to be sufficiently prepared, accredited, and recognized by the Foundation and its Training Schools.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ON THE LIST OF EVALUATED AND REGISTERED TRAINERS
The Vedic Foundations Teachers training system on the Classic Yoga and Vyayam disciplines, establishes different levels that require continuous training to be able to access them and at the same time renovate certifications as acknowledgement endorsements of the satisfactory and sustained preparation on the trainers part.

The certifications accredit the student with having fulfilled the minimum necessary hours of technical, theory and teaching knowledge which is enough to give classes on the discipline in which they are personally capable and at the same time in which they have trained in order to be able to teach.

Taking advantage of the Vyayam and Yoga courses and correctly passing the evaluation exams allows you to be registered on the list of trainers recognized by the Foundation which will be annually published on the web sites from September to September every year. Being present on this list will make it easier to diffuse the teachings as names and addresses will be given over to anyone who is interested in learning Vyayam and Yoga, so they will be able get in touch with you directly, and at the same time, being present on the list enables you to represent the Training Schools in the various programs they require.

Accreditation renewal is an essential requirement for updating the trainers in their personal Teacher Training process, and at the same time the certainty that the masters of the Training Schools will be able to publicly accredit those who are present on the list, who are more than prepared and who haven’t deviated from the traditional and original teachings.

Inside the Yoga spectrum this revalidation system is employed by many other prestigious schools around the world, like that of Iyengar and Pattabi Joish. These schools establish in their rules that the endorsed and recognized teachers should continue their training, continuously re-evaluating themselves with periodic annual or twice annual exams as well as receiving complementary instruction.

LIST OF REGISTERED TRAINERS
A Guarantee registration has already been established on the web sites as was previously announced. Therefore it is very important to appear on the list of endorsed and recognized Trainers. All those interested in learning will be able to trust that the trainers they are looking for to teach in their areas or at the time they require their services to give courses or regular classes, will be correctly acknowledged and one hundred percent trustworthy in knowledge and instruction. Their integrity as people, which is essential for the teaching and diffusion of Yoga according to the requirements of the Yamas and Niyamas, is also trustworthy.

COINCIDING COURSES, WIDER KNOWLEDGE
Even when both the Vyayam and Yoga courses are realized separately, in reality for the trainer, be it a monitor or professor, they really are not separate in the protocol of personal learning and teaching, as Vyayam is part of Yoga and appropriate Teacher Training in Raja Yoga is essential once Vyayam has been accessed and learnt, as Vyayam cannot exist without Yoga, Tantra and Ayurveda. In an operative field, at the moment of setting up programs and classes, Vyayam trainers “find themselves” having to mix with yoga practitioners and with yoga teachers and should be sufficiently prepared to know about Ashtanga Yoga (Hatha and Raja Yoga) in all its practical and philosophical dimensions, this is why Vyayam Yoga training should be connected with classic Yoga training, Ayurveda, Samkhya-Tantra, Sanskrit, Vedanta and Sanatana Dharma Shastras: Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Brahma Sutras.
A Vyayam trainer, independently of their level as a monitor, instructor, professor or master, should be very well prepared. A Vyayam trainer is admired and respected and presents Vyayam more easily and in an elevated way. The Teachers Training process has improved and evolved to a higher and more perfect level, which is essential to be able to obtain a higher Adikarya inside the trainer’s level which is combined with a complementary certificate in Ayurveda or other times in Yoga, Tantra, Vedanta or Sanatana Dharma.

STRUCTURE 1
Trainers -Adhyâpakas, are divided into several levels from lower to higher categories:

LEVELS
Generic levels -Srenî
• Helpers
• Monitors
• Instructors
• Professors
• Masters

The different levels are obtained by achieving an appropriate qualification that determines the level of capacity:
Adhikâra = level, which is synonymous with “the level of authorization and capacity” in Yoga and in Vyayam on a teaching level.

QUALIFICATION PROCESS
Qualification Process -Vyavastha Guna is acquired through the combined learning of:
•Academic term courses in Yoga & Dharma*
•In the TTC (Teachers Training Courses)
•In the courses and other extra programs on different disciplines and teachings (Ayurveda, Anna Yoga, Tantra, Vedanta, etc)
•Through assisting Meditation satsanghas
•Through the practice and execution of the 4 Yogas
•Through Karma Yoga as a service of collaboration with the Schools and Masters of the Vedic Foundation in their mission to diffuse Yoga and Dharma
•Through personal practice that leads to improvement and perfection
•Through teaching practices
•Through the development of virtue under the principle of honesty

CREDITS

You can earn Credits -Kîrtih through learning, personal practice, teaching practices and in the service of collaboration
to the Foundation and the Masters.

Credits - Kîrtih, are granted through the following ways:
• Assisting registered TTC (Teacher training Courses) programs as well as the other complementary courses and Academic term Courses at the Yoga & Dharma Academy*
• Taking advantage of the teachings and good class participation
• For the number of service hours in Karma Yoga and collaboration with the Foundation and the Masters in the mission of diffusing Yoga & Dharma
• By evaluation, sometimes by exam and other times by the global appreciation of the Masters in the programs that include these evaluations whether they be TTC´s or other programs. The evaluations are indistinctively practical and theoretical.
• Karma Yoga hours in the Vedic School or work with NGO´s acknowledged by the Vedic Foundation
• By objective evaluation of the level of practice and dedicated personal study
• By the level of involvement with the Vedic Foundation and the Masters.
• By developing Virtue under the principle of honesty.

* The Credits – Kîrtih are only evaluative from the Academic term course when it is possible to assist regular classes at the Yoga and Dharma Academy. In case this is not possible because there is no authorized Yoga Shala in your area, the process should be complimented by assisting more TTC programs (Teachers Training Courses), as well as other complementary programs, and with the acquisition of Levels you will be able to extend this even further or ask for more participation possibilities.
As the Credits accumulate, you can then access the different levels -Adhikâra that will allow you to obtain titles in different Levels -Srenî. It is very important to understand that you should want to obtain a lot of Credits and not lose any. The barometer of Credits - Kîrtih received, depends on those who previously enrol and assist regularly different courses, complementary courses, TTC´s, evaluation exams or donations from the Masters or professors for the process specified beforehand. The Credits - Kîrtih, can be lost by sanctions that are received for lack of discipline, suspension for not renewing Levels, - Adhikarâ, and for inappropriate behaviour that goes against the development of virtue under the principle of honesty.

STRUCTURE 2

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THE TTC
By definition, the TTC is a Training Course for all those who wish to learn and perfect themselves in Vyayam and/or Yoga and the TTC is also a Training Course for all those who wish to prepare themselves to teach.

FEES
The registration fees are initially for those who only want to learn for themselves. For those who wish to teach, an extra fee must be paid that will allow them to be evaluated and accredited. These fees are subject to fluctuation and it is convenient to check the current prices. In some TTC´s, the evaluation fees are included.
The cost of the extra fee is 150 € and is valid for 3 attempts until one is consumed*
* Evaluation fee for repeating a failed exam:
- Theory or Practice: 50 € each time
- General failure (theory and practice): 100 € for both

EVALUATIONS
All of those who complete the TTC but do not apply for the evaluation exam have the possibility of doing so for up to one year after the TTC.
From when the TTC you were registered in finishes, you have a year of authorized teaching if you have completed all the requirements.
*In case of absence during an examination, you should tell the school with a minimum of 24 hours notice. If it is not possible to advise with a minimum of 24 hours, then you should present a medical certificate.

It is necessary to fulfil the minimum number of academic hours of Karma yoga to develop a spirit of collaboration. These hours can be done either in the school or in a NGO acknowledged by the school. In case the student does not show an appropriate aptitude in the exam or in the teaching evaluation, they should do more training hours and/or more teaching practices.

The exams are both theory and practical and are based on an “Honesty Principle”.
In case the student does not pass the evaluation exam, there are 3 options to re-sit.
In case the students have difficulty doing the minimum Karma Yoga hours, and following the Indian tradition of Dana (donation), they can make a donation toward the temple ceremonies or toward teaching materials for Vyayam / Yoga. This is a way to finance resources for other students and for the monastic community, making learning easier.
The ways to do Karma Yoga are as follows:

1. Volunteering at an NGO, which the Vedic Foundation should approve beforehand, and obtain a certificate from them.
The minimum amount of hours for Level 1-2 is 108.

2. In different Karma Yogas indicated within and by the Vedic Foundation. The minimum amount of hours
    for Level 1-2 is 54.

3. Donation for the diffusion of Dharma and Yoga / Vyayam

A) Maintaining the temple ceremonies

B) Printed teaching or computer material dedicated to the diffusion of Yoga / Vyayam.
The minimum fixed amount for the donation for Karma Yoga is 1 € which corresponds to each hour of Karma Yoga: The total being 54 hours
An option of doing some Karma Yoga hours and offering another part by donation also exists. Each student will decide how he or she wants to do this.

You may access the evaluation exam in the following way:
• By invitation from the Masters
• By a personal application to the Masters
• By an application from the students which will need to be accepted by the Head of Studies.

Access to the Evaluation exam depends on the applicant and whether they have the necessary capacity and qualification for it.

LOSS OF ACCREDITATION
Whoever violates the Principle of Honesty in the examinations will be suspended and their accreditations withdrawn. They will also lose levels, which will then be communicated on the Web site.

RENEWAL OF ACCREDITATIONS
All the trainers should renew their accreditation periodically under the principle of “Continuous Training” which avoids deviations, defects, and imperfections in the personal practice and in the teaching practice. If you do not do this, then your name will disappear from the endorsed and guaranteed “Trainers List”, and the general public will not be informed of you when they need trainers for programs.

Renewal can be done in the following ways:
• Doing the Teachers Training Course and sitting the evaluation exam
• A Special Renewal Course

ACCREDITATION PERIODS
The period of Accreditation Renewal is:

• Assistant trainer: Without any renewal period
• Monitor: Annual renewal
• Instructor: Annual renewal during 5 years, then every 2 years
• Assistant Professor: Annual renewal during 5 years, then every 2 years
• Professor: Annual renewal during 3 years, then every 2 years
• Specialist Professor: Annual renewal during 2 years, then every 2 years
• Training Professor: Renewal every 2 years
• Assistant Master: Renewal every 3 years
• Master: No renewal necessary

PROFESSIONAL LICENCE
In the current TTC system, there is no restriction for the Trainers to teach as soon as they get their accreditation as a Monitor; but they should give classes as a service to the Vedic Foundation as part of their preparation to accredit themselves fully. The minimum amount of annual classes should be: 12.
Each certificate accredits a certain level and therefore theory and practical knowledge, and the student will commit to not teach anything outside of what was learnt and certified. Having been accredited, monitors, instructors, professors and masters of different levels can develop their work anywhere and not specifically in the academies and training programs. To participate as a trainer, monitor, instructor, professor etc. in our academies and teacher training schools is a privilege and requires special permission along with a demonstration of your extensive capacity and training.

LICENCE TO USE "VYAYAM"
The use of the term Vyayam is only authorized for a correctly accredited Trainer, to be used in publicity, magazine write-ups or on the Internet, but not in books (except Specialist Professors who are authorized to do so). Any other use in the form of films in any format or duration without prior permission is prohibited.

ACCREDITATION LICENCE
The teaching of Vyayam Yoga is only authorized inside the framework understood by the accreditation system. In case the conditions are not fulfilled and the Trainer teaches other practices of which they do not have knowledge, it will be considered “opportunistic” and they will be expelled from the Register of Accreditations and Renewals.

SPECIAL CREDITS FROM THE CHANCELLOR
The Master Chancellor can determine special conditions so as to submit 25% of the total credits according to each Level in order to customize the personalized process.

EXCLUSIONS
The Head of Studies and the Master Chancellor of the training Schools will be able to cancel the Training Course for any applicant and reject any application for an accreditation renewal. In case a payment was made, then this will be returned in its totality if the course has not begun or a proportional part returned for the time consumed for the totality of the contracted hours.

The outline presented is developed from the Vyayam Teachers Training Course Structure. To be able to adjust it to the Classic Yoga TTC, you just have to do the corresponding conversion.
